We have been following Alberta Health Services closely over the recent months to provide a safe environment for all of our students. At this time, we are able to go-ahead with in-person classes with the following safety measures in place:
- Masking is now Optional. Parents, students, and teachers are now no longer required to wear face masks in the studio. Should you prefer your student’s teacher to wear a mask during lessons with your child, please let us know. Masks will be provided at the studio, should your child forget theirs at home and want to wear one during their lesson.
- Flute players will play behind a large stationary plexiglass shield during their lessons.
- Everyone is asked to sanitize their hands upon arrival and departure.
- In-person lessons will not be available to students who are experiencing any cold or flu symptoms, have traveled outside of the country, or within Canada’s COVID hotspot regions within 14 days or have been exposed to someone who has tested positive to COVID within 14 days. An online lesson will be available at the student’s regular scheduled lesson day and time provided that the student has given their teacher prior notice before 12:00pm on the day of their lesson.Â
- All students are asked to arrive at their lesson or class with one caregiver only if possible. Any additional parent or sibling is asked to wait in the car, or stay at home whenever possible as we aim to decrease the number of people in our common areas.
- Surfaces at RMH Music will be disinfected frequently including keyboards and the plexiglass shields used for flute lessons.
- Physical distancing will be adhered to as much as possible.Â
- Should a government-mandated closure occur, all in-person lessons will continue online.Â
RMH Music acknowledges that not all risks of the spread of COVID-19 are preventable but will make all efforts to reduce the risk.
